In the process of China's alumina industry from scratch, from weak to strong, the problem that has been restricting us is red mud discharge. In recent years, with the increasing efforts of the state on environmental protection, the problems of waste water and waste gas have been basically cured. The implementation of a series of environmental protection transformation projects, such as ultra-low emission transformation of power plants and roasters, and gas desulfurization, has alleviated the environmental protection pressure of enterprises to a certain extent.

The implementation of a series of environmental protection transformation projects, such as ultra-low emission transformation of power plants and roasters, and gas desulfurization, has alleviated the environmental protection pressure of enterprises to a certain extent. In recent years, many researchers and industrial enterprises have carried out a large number of research and exploration on the comprehensive utilization of red mud, such as building roads with red mud, making ceramic balls with red mud, etc., but they have not been put into large-scale application due to the high processing cost.
Now the domestic ore grade has dropped sharply, and it has approached the effective component in red mud. At present, the more mainstream and more feasible method is the high silicon red mud energy-saving series method and the use of high-iron red mud to recover red mud iron, titanium and other elements. These two methods have been industrially applied in Oriental Hope and Jinjiang's subsidiaries. This alleviates the huge pressure on the operation of the enterprise caused by the decline of ore grade to a certain extent. This is the trend of the survival and development of domestic alumina enterprises. I believe that more enterprises will join the team to explore the comprehensive utilization of red mud in the future.
According to the current changes in the bauxite market and future development trends, we believe that the industry competition pattern will change, that is, mainly rely on imported mines to alleviate the existing production capacity "crisis". However, from the perspective of the development trend of the alumina industry, when companies invest in the layout, the environmental protection policies of port cities or southwestern regions will show a relatively relaxed trend, and these cities may obtain development opportunities. And overseas (Indonesia, Guinea and Vietnam, etc.) bauxite production of alumina development opportunities and competition will become more intense.
