Based on the price comparative analysis of Shanxi Xiaoyi bauxite, if the current alumina plant only uses 10% to 20% of imported ore to mix ore, then the cost of alumina is almost the same as that of all domestic ore production.

Imported Sanshui ore is easy to dissolve, and the dissolution method of low temperature and low alkalinity is generally used, and the comprehensive energy consumption is low. Considering that the silica content in the ore is relatively low compared to the domestic monohydrate ore, the silica content in the ore from Guinea and Jamaica is only below 2.2 per cent on average. In this way, although the ore consumption increases, the alkali consumption can be greatly reduced. In the current caustic soda prices have been at a high level, the use of domestic water + foreign three water ore mixed use, to reduce alkali consumption and production costs is still very good. It is expected that in the next step, more alumina producers using domestic monohydrate ore will join the camp of producers using imported ore or mixed use, and the possibility of investing in the construction of alumina plants in several major domestic port cities is also rising sharply.
